Update for the week of 8/30/21 – 9/3/21

I want to welcome everyone back to another school year.  Today, we will welcome the new Freshmen to the school and have a day of special presentations, tours, and a mock schedule in store.  Tomorrow, we will welcome back the Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.  This week we also start our regular after school rehearsal schedule for the Marching Band.  Thursday night will be our Band Orientation Night.  Friday will be an early dismissal day for the kids and as a result there will not be a rehearsal held after school.  I am looking forward to another very exciting year of performances from all of our ensembles here at QACHS.

Below is the schedule of events and rehearsals for this week.

Monday – Freshmen Day
Woodwinds/Brass Rehearsal (2:30PM-5:00PM)

Tuesday – Upperclassmen Return
Percussion/Guard Rehearsal (2:30PM-5:00PM)

Wednesday – No After School Rehearsal

Thursday – Full Marching Band Rehearsal (2:30-5:00PM)
Band Orientation @ 7:00PM

Friday – Student’s Early Dismissal @ 12:00PM (No Afterschool Rehearsal)

Update for the Week of 8/23/21 – 8/27/21

This week is the last week of summer break for the students which also means that we will have our last Wednesday night Marching Band Rehearsal before school starts.  The Back to School Night that was to be held on Wednesday evening as well has been cancelled.

Just a reminder that we will begin our after school rehearsals from 2:30 – 5:00 next Monday.  All upperclassmen Woodwind and Brass members will need to be sure that they report in for that rehearsal at 2:30.  Additionally, the following week on Tuesday, we will have a sectional day for all members.

We are down to only two weeks before school starts again. We only have two more Wednesday night rehearsals left.

Update for the Week of 8/9/21 – 8/13/21

We had an outstanding two weeks of camp the past two weeks and I am very proud of all the hard work that went into doing all that was accomplished in both the rehearsals and the final performance.  Today we will perform for the Queen Anne’s County Fair Opening Ceremonies as well as lead the Fair Parade through the 4-H Park.  On Wednesday, we will resume our Wednesday Night Rehearsals from 6 – 9 PM.

Here is what our schedule looks like this week:

Monday – Queen Anne’s County Fair Performances

  • Report time is 5: 30 PM
  • Dress is Green Band Shirt, Blue Jeans (no holes), and Sneakers
  • We will perform at 6:45 PM in the Horse Ring
  • Will will lead the fair parade through the 4-H Park after the ceremonies conclude.
  • If you are not going to return on the bus after the performances, then you must turn in the travel release form before we leave the school and can be found and downloaded from here.
  • If you do leave from the fair, you must take your instrument with you.
  • For those that will return to the school after we perform, you can expect to be back between 8:00 – 8:30 PM.

Update for the Week of 8/2/21 – 8/6/21

This week the Marching Lions Band goes through their second week of  Band Camp 2021.  We will end our week with a performance of what we have learned over the two weeks at 11:00AM on Friday.

Looking ahead to next week, we will play at the opening ceremonies of the Queen Anne’s County Fair on Monday evening as well as return back to our Wednesday night rehearsals from 6:00-9:00PM.

We will do our end of camp performance at 11:00AM.  All family, friends, and neighbors are invited.
