This week, the Symphonic Band continues to work on its music for Veterans Day.  The Marching Lions will begin cleaning parts of their show in anticipation of presenting it to the judges at the Colonel Richardson MMBA Competition on Saturday.  Tuesday night will be our next Alumni Band Rehearsal in preparation for next week’s Homecoming parade.  Thursday night will be our October Band Parent Meeting.  On Saturday, we will need some parent volunteers to help us load the trailer at QACHS, unload and reload at Colonel Richardson, and unload at QACHS once we return.  This does not have to be the same crew at each location. We are also looking for a volunteer with a full-sized pick-up truck to help us by pulling the trailer as well.  Please reach out to Mr. Wright as soon as possible if you are able to help with the pulling of the trailer.

Looking ahead to next week, the Marching Lions will have a very busy week with the mass band rehearsal with the two middle school marching bands on Thursday night, performance at the Pep Rally on Friday, and march in the parade with the alumni members, followed by the mass band Pre-Game performance, in the stands, and present their halftime show at the game, all on Saturday.

Today we are enjoying the end of our three and a half-day Labor Day weekend.  This week we will begin working on the music that we are going to perform for the Centreville Veterans Day Ceremony in November.  Tuesday evening we will have our first 2025 Alumni Band rehearsal.  Thursday, we will have our first monthly Band Parents Meeting in the band room at 7:00 PM.  We encourage everyone to join us so that we can discuss the various plans and events for the year.  On Friday night the Marching Lions will perform at our first home football game.  Saturday afternoon, the Marching Lions will present their preview performance after spending the day putting more of their show on the field.

Today, the Joe Corbi’s Fundraiser will be made available for pick up by all band members.  Sales will continue through October 21st.  The Concert and Symphonic Bands are continuing to work music for their upcoming performance at the Centreville Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11th as well as the Winter Concert on December 4th.  The Outdoor Percussion and Color Guard Ensemble and Marching Lions Band will be busy with the various Homecoming activities that include Mass Band rehearsal on Thursday evening, Pep Rally on Friday afternoon, and then the Parade, Mass Band Pregame, Game, and Halftime on Saturday.

This week will be a busy week as this is Homecoming week at QACHS.  This week the Marching Lions will participate in the Pep Rally on Friday, and then the Homecoming Parade and Game on Saturday.

The Symphonic and Concert Bands have both begun their initial preparations for the Winter Concert and will continue that this week.  In addition the Concert band will continue their preparations for the Music, Monologues, and More collaborative performance with the Theater Department on November 9th.
