This week we say our “good byes” to the Seniors as they graduate on Thursday evening and we also welcome the new incoming Freshmen as they join us for the Marching Band Mini-Camp on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

Monday – NO SCHOOL!  MEMORIAL DAY!!

Tuesday – 2011 Marching Band Mini Camp 6-8PM at QACHS (Leadership Team Meeting @ 5PM)

Wednesday – 2011 Marching Band Mini Camp 6-8PM at QACHS  (Leadership Team Meeting @ 5PM)

Thursday – 2011 QACHS Graduation 7:00PM (Students must arrive by 6:00PM in order to get dressed, warmed up, and in place for the ceremony to begin.  Please allow plenty of time to arrive at the HS as traffic will be coming from both directions into the school and gets backed up.)

Friday – 2011 Marching Band Mini Camp 6-8PM at QACHS (Parent Meeting for all Marching Band members at 7:00PM in the Choir Room)

This week is going to pick up the pace a little bit and be busy.  We have a Marching Band rehearsal after school today in preparation for the two parades this Saturday, Drum Major and Section Leader Interviews Tuesday and Wednesday, and Senior Exams Thursday and Friday.  The Senior Band Exam is done in two parts: Performance and Written.  The Performance portion will be today and the written will be done on Friday.

Next week will be Mini-Camp on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday with Graduation on Thursday.

This week we don’t have much going on as we push towards the end of the year.  There are no after school rehearsals this week.  Next week will be Senior Exams as they finish their final week.  Today, we will have sign-ups for the playing portion of the Final Exam.  The Seniors will be doing their performance section next Monday and the rest of the Concert/Symphonic Bands will do their performance section the week before exam week.

Just a reminder that the Marching Band will not be marching in the Kent Island Heritage Festival Parade as was originally on our schedule due to Prom being held Saturday evening.  Leadership team applications are due to Mr. Wright by the end of the day on Friday.  Just a reminder that the Marching Band will have a rehearsal after school next Monday in preparation for the two parades at the end of next week.  We will also have the Assistant Drum Major Auditions/Interviews and Section Leader Interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
